Confirmed 550 Players Already on Day 2 of the International Stadiums Poker Tour

The International Stadiums Poker Tour is about to start and this time the players are already 550 confirmed on day 2 of the tournament which will take place at Wembley Stadium.

Jason Mercier confident he will win WSOP bracelet - accepts bets

Daniel Negreanu bubbled the final table of the WPT Championship

Red Bull will give wings to ISPT Wembley

The increasingly close to the International Stadiums Poker Tour Wembley, a new partner has been announced - the Austrian company Red Bull. PokerStars have introduced a King of the Hill policy to prevent weaker players being preyed upon by more experienced ones in a practice known as ‘bum-hunting’

PokerStars has introduced a new measure to prevent players at a table from sitting out until a recreational player sits. PokerStars representative Steve Day posted broad details of the new policy on 2+2 forum.

If the dealing at a table stops because players have sat out, the table will be closed after a predefined delay, regardless of the number of players still sat down.

Players who start a table but sit out while they wait for weak players to join will no longer be able to do so. Tables where no cards are being dealt will be removed from the lobby.

For the purpose of starting new games, a single table of each type will be allowed to remain open where only one player is seated. If new players join that table and dealing does not start after a preset time, the table will be closed.

This policy is known as a “King of the Hill” solution because it forces active players to play against each other until games run or only one player is left waiting. The policy has been introduced to protect recreational players and end the common strategy of regulars refusing to play each other and simply waiting for weak players to turn up.

Changes made to Selected Games and Stakes Only

The new policy only applies to 6-Max and Full Ring No Limit Hold´em, Flop Limit Hold´em and Pot Limit Omaha tables with blinds at $1.00/$2.00 and above. At the moment the changes will not apply to Heads Up tables or to the PokerStars sites in France, Italy and Spain.

The policy change follows the April PokerStars meeting between players and management that took place on the Isle of Man. These meetings had been scheduled on a regular basis so that PokerStars can “cut out the middle man” and management can hear directly from players rather than feedback being filtered through marketing and PR.

Shaun Deeb on top of SCOOP Leaderboard again

Shaun Deeb is now leading the overall 2013 SCOOP Player of the Series leaderboard. Deeb has already cashed over $130,000 from the 2013 SCOOP tournaments he has played and made it to four final tables.

Deeb is the first person in SCOOP history to win five SCOOP titles. He won his first title in the 2010 SCOOP and his next four were all won last year, in the 2012 SCOOP, where he was crowned the 2012 SCOOP Player of the Series.

It will be interesting to see, that can Deeb catch his sixth title and will he be player of the series also this year.

The 2013 SCOOP will culminate this sunday with the main events. The winner of the overall 2013 SCOOP Player of the Series will be awarded with a SCOOP Trophy + PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT10 Grand Final Package.

WSOP Europe Schedule 2013 unveiled

The World Series of Poker unveiled their 2013 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) Schedule. The Series will start in France on October 12 at the lakeside Casino Barrière d’Enghien-les-Bains in the Parisian suburbs.

The series not only has a new location and new venue but also a brand new bracelet to be won as, for the first time, the open €25,600 High Roller event will be a WSOP sanctioned bracelet event.

The seven bracelet and 48 side event series include five NLHE events, including the ESPN televised €10k Main Event and a €5k Mixed-Max event with an additional two PLO events to fill out the schedule. The WSOPE will complement the bracelet schedule with dozens of side events, cash games and satellites over the course of two weeks.

Chino Rheem Leads a Tough Final Eight Into Day 5 of WPT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Chino Rheem entered the day 4 as 21st in chips with 24 players remaining, but he caught fire shortly after the field reached the money to take the chip lead, and he never looked back. Rheem, who won a WPT title here at Bellagio four seasons ago, has nearly twice as many chips as anyone else.

With eight players remaining, five of them already have their names engraved on the WPT Champions Cup: Erick Lindgren, Daniel Negreanu, Rocco Palumbo, Chino Rheem, and Jonathan Roy.

PokerStars studying measures to prevent ratholing

Annie Duke Releases Statement on UltimateBet Cheating Tapes

Former UltimateBet spokesperson and Excapsa corporate shareholder Annie Duke has issued a 1,200-word statement via Facebook regarding her alleged knowledge of and possible use of the “God Mode” software cheat used by company insiders to steal at least $23 million from unsuspecting players on the site from 2003-07.

Duke refuted assertions made by primary UB cheater Russ Hamilton about her previous use of and knowledge of the software tool used to cheat players. Hamilton asserted that Duke used a time-delayed version of the tool on multiple occasions, though no claims were made regarding any Duke involvement in the actual cheating.

Duke’s statement includes brief messages of support from two long-time Duke friends, poker author John Vorhaus and corporate exec Jo Priam, who worked with Duke for years at both UB and the failed Epic Poker League.

This public acknowledgement comes on the heels of a similar statement made by fellow spokesplayer and UB site owner Phil Hellmuth last week. Hellmuth, like Duke, denied knowledge of the cheating and expressed disgust at the activities of those connected to the theft.

Bracelet Jamie Gold goes up for auction

Jamie Gold started in poker history in 2006 when he won the largest Main Event World Series of Poker ever. Now, and not knowing the reasons for this, Jamie Gold has decided to put the bracelet win this tournament auction.

The auction will be conducted by Heritage Auctions, and held on 1 August, the bidding period begins just before the July 13.

Court gives reason to the Atlantic Club Casino
